The holiday spirit is in full force at Yogurtland, and we’ve had a busy couple of weeks spreading love and joy, making good days great for our friends in the community.
Last month, we helped bring Thanksgiving dinner to family and friends at the Children’s Hospital of Orange County (CHOC Children’s). Being able to lend a helping hand to CHOC Children’s and the families there was a rewarding experience, and seeing the smiling children as they made their cups of frozen yogurt with our team was the cherry on top of a wonderful evening.
Last week, we joined forces with Delta Air Lines, Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA), and P.S. Arts to continue spreading the joy of the holiday season at Delta’s Holiday in the Hangar event at LAX.
With the help of our team, 100 underprivileged children and their escorts were taken on the ride of a lifetime – to the North Pole! Delta volunteers dressed as Santa’s elves joined the children on the North Pole bound plane, which was fully decorated with snowflakes, ornaments and snow.
Upon arriving at the hangar, the children received a warm welcome from event volunteers, some of their favorite movie characters and surprise celebrities Rowan Blanchard and Shay Mitchell. The children were able to enjoy a day full of activities; shooting hoops with the Lakers, getting their faces painted, playing hockey with the Kings and of course, enjoying delicious frozen yogurt from Yogurtland!
The best was of course saved for last as Santa arrived and later spent time listening to what the boys and girls want most for Christmas.
For most, the spirit of the holidays brings with it a season of sharing and a natural reminder for all of us to express gratitude for all we have. As we spend time with loved ones, we’re reminded that there are people who don’t have the same fortune, and at Yogurtland we do everything we can to help make a difference in the lives of those people. We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to volunteer time at these amazing events and look forward to spending time serving up smiles next year!
